OFFER A ROBE AND SUPPORT THE MONKS

Dear Dhamma Friends,

The Robe Offering (Kathina) Ceremony which follows the Rains Retreat is an important occasion in the Buddhist calendar.

This offering of robes to monastics is one of the most meritorious of deeds and it is valued as a way of keeping alive the true spirit of offering. As the Buddha says:

” … and I say that in no way is a gift to a person individually ever more fruitful than an offering made to the Sangha.” (MN 142)

As such, we welcome you to our annual Robe Offering Ceremony. All robes offered during the Robe Offering Ceremony will be distributed to monks’ training centres in Sri Lanka. These robes will greatly benefit the monks.

Photos showing of the distribution of robes that were offered in last year’s Robe Offering Ceremony can be seen at our Facebook page here.
