
Grudges are like viruses. Hold on to them and they will grow and multiply, and eventually make us sick and miserable. Understanding thus, how can we avoid being consumed by grudges? The verses in today’s Dhammapada tell us of three ways. How to quickly let them go so that they do not have time to fester. How to counter them with positive thoughts and compassion. And how understanding the impermanent nature of our existence can free us from ever wanting to hold on to grudges.
