The Kasibhāradvāja Sutta refers to an encounter between the Buddha and the wealthy farmer and Brahmin Bhāradvāja. One day, when the Buddha appeared at Bhāradvāja’s farm during the distribution of food, the brahmin reproached the Buddha for not working and questioned why he should receive any food. In response, the Buddha calmly explained that he, too, was a hard worker, and then, using the imagery of farming tools and agricultural practices, he skillfully illustrated the Dhamma, showing how his own work was the cultivation of wisdom, discipline, and liberation from suffering. The brahmin was impressed, acknowledged the Buddha as his teacher, and respectfully offered food to him.
This is a meaningful and inspiring Sutta not to be missed, as it provides three important key points. What are they? Tune in to listen and find out whether the Buddha accepted the food offered by the brahmin.
