
In this sutta, the Ven. Mahacunda reminded his monks and nuns that meditative practice and dhamma work are both needed for the path to enlightenment. Yet, he noted that those who are inclined towards dhamma work tend to see his work as more important. Conversely, those who are into meditation tend to put down dhamma work while elevating his own practice. What lies at the root of such tendencies? How do lay followers fall into a similar trap? And what are we to do about it?
