Nobody loves me. It is all my fault. I cannot see any good in myself. Familiar?  These and other forms of self-attack do not just bring us down, they may also be destructive and harmful to ourselves – and others. Ultimately, they are manifestations of our defilements, especially of hatred and delusion. What are its causes?  How can we use the Buddhist teachings to overcome such tendencies?
